The long awaited Sustainable Corporate Governance initiative by the European Commission will be published on the 23rd of February. This initiative aims to require companies active in the European Union to implement human rights and environmental due diligence. The European Parliament Working Group on Responsible Business Conduct is organising a webinar to present and discuss the legislative proposal with a broad range of stakeholders including Commissioner Didier Reynders, Rachel Davis from Shift Project and MEP Lara Wolters on the 2nd of March. The initiative is based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights and the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises. More information will follow once it has been published.
