In June 2024, we started a risk assessment of the granite supply chain in India for Den Hollandsche Gedenken.
In collaboration with our local partners MV Foundation and Paradigm Shift Global, we investigated the social sustainability issues in three quarry areas and factories in this supply chain. The results in our reports focus on:
• Child labour
• Working conditions
• Living wage
We visited various quarries and factories personally to commence with the social dialogue.
We are very pleased that we can achieve interventions to improve this chain over the next three years, especially because of the involvement and intrinsic motivation that we experience among the staff of Den Hollandsche. Nice to improve the granite chain from India together!
This project is supported by the Social Sustainability Fund, as part of The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and in commission of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
