The Local Impact Hub connects global value chains with local experts allowing companies to improve their responsible business conduct.
On the first of March, the Local Impact Hub is officially launched. A new initiative that brings local insights from the ground to companies operating in global value chains to improve their responsible business conduct.
The local Impact Hub supports companies to prevent, mitigate and/or remedy adverse impacts in their value chain and improve their responsible business conduct by providing information and expertise from local experts, such as civil society organisations. Ultimately this will equip companies with the knowledge and network to realise a positive impact on people and planet.
The tropical timber value chain is the first value chain covered by the Local Impact Hub in collaboration with the Dutch Sustainable Forestry agreement. Research funded by the agreement in combination with data from publicly available risk analyses has resulted in 8 country profiles that present risks and actual impacts in the tropical timber value chain. These profiles give companies a head start in identifying risk and adverse impacts. More in-depth support by our experts and local network is provided by the Local Impact Hub on an individual basis.
